Sectara Inks Deal with Dark Star Records

Dark Star Records is pleased to announce that it has Inked a deal with the experimental Chicago based progressive metal band Sectara. This unique band whose primary focus since their 2006 formation has been the development of an aggressively original sound. With a combined appreciation for classic bands such as Voivod, Cynic, Death, Godflesh, Napalm Death, Tool, Kyuss, Faith No More, Mr. Bungle, and Macabre, Sectara have achieved something monumental with the completion of their debut full length recording. With the immensely creative production skills of Grammy award winning producer Neil Kernon, Sectara’s album “Interstellar Terror” helps to define new boundaries for the current aggressive music landscape. Also, Bruce Lamont and Matt Mclellund of Yakuza made guest saxophone and vocal appearances on the album along with Corporate Death of Macabre, who does guest vocals and guitar solos. The new album “Interstellar Terror” is now available worldwide at iTunes, Google Play, Spotify, Amazon, Rhapsody and more via Dark Star Records and Sony Music Entertainment.

Conquest, Two Ton Anvil, Low Twelve and Bloody Mary Confirmed for Indianapolis Metal Fest 2013

We are pleased to announce that Dark Star Records artists Conquest, Two Ton Anvil, Low Twelve and Bloody Mary have been confirmed for Indianapolis Metal Fest 2013. The two day US metal festival will take place in the Circle City on September 20th and 21st, 2013. The event will feature more than 50 bands playing on three different stages, including one all-ages stage. According to festival founder, Rob Mason, the festival will consist of top underground metal bands with some well respected headliners playing each night. The price of the tickets will be fairly low as well as the price of food and drinks but yet promises to deliver the finest in underground metal. While Indianapolis Metal Fest is supported, in part, by corporate sponsors, those relationships have never dictated the event’s underground sensibilities. Says Mason, “Metal is as much a lifestyle as it is a style of music, and Indianapolis Metal Fest is about more than just the music. It’s also about fellowshipping with like-minded individuals – like a family reunion for Metal Heads.” Dark Star Records was a sponsor for the last Indianapolis Metal Fest and this year Jeffrey A Swanson and Lloyd Freeze have selected four of the labels finest artists: Conquest, Two Ton Anvil, Low Twelve and the All Girl Teenage Metal Band Bloody Mary.

“Lords of Meat” Re Release Their Classic Album “A Mind A World Away”

Dark Star Records Re Release the Classic Album “A Mind A World Away” by Chicago based Metal Icons Lords Of Meat. The band was very popular in Europe and the Chicagoland Area and had originally released “A Mind A World Away” on Cassette in 1993. The band features vocalist Scott Huffman who also was the lead singer for Metallian, Twelfth Gate and Mindwarp Chamber. This special re release also includes three Live Studio Bonus Tracks. The Classic Album “A Mind A World Away” can now be found anywhere downloads are sold including iTunes via Dark Star Records and Sony Music.

Sacred Dawn Hits The Top 10 At Several Key Radio Stations

Sacred Dawn, who have just returned from their US Tour have hit the Top 10 at several key radio stations nationwide. CMJ and Mediabase reports show that WKNC-Raleigh, KFAI-Minneapolis, KJHK-Lawrence and WLFR-Pomona have all put “A Madness Within” on their Top 10 Playlist. The band Sacred Dawn has also remained on the CMJ Top 50 for over 8 weeks now and continue to remain high on the charts. This has been a great year for the band “Sacred Dawn” as they continue to promote their sophomore release “A Madness Within” through their new label Dark Star Records. Conquest Unleash Their Full Length Album “Rage” Originally Released in Europe On Sony BMG

We are excited to announce that Conquest have re-released their original full length album “Rage” Worldwide via Dark Star Records. The album was originally released in Europe on November 2nd 1998. This album shows the darkest side of Conquest and is a true gem for all true metal fans. This album is now available as a special digital only re-release and can be found anywhere digital music is sold including: iTunes, Rhapsody, Amazon, Zune and More. The band “Conquest” gained strong momentum with the release of their label debut album “End Of Days”, which garnered rave reviews from metal critics across the board.The band is currently working on their next full length album entitled “Against All Odds”. The band is working once again with engineer Adam Long, and the album will be produced by Derrick Brumley. Their latest release “Against All Odds” will feature new bass player Joey Saturn and will be available worldwide in the Spring/Summer 2011 via Dark Star Records.
